12 FACTS ABOUT THE QURAN

  1. The Qur’an is NOT just for Muslims. It is a message to the entire humanity. It is the final message to humanity from Allah.
  2. The Qur’an isn’t like a story book which is written in sequence of beginning, middle and end.
  3. The Qur’an wasn’t revealed all at once. It was revealed across 23 years.
  4. The Qur’an wasn’t revealed as a “book” in physical form, rather it was revealed through the angel Jibreel onto the heart of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was divinely aided to receive the Qur’an & preserve the revelation.
  5. The primary commentary of the Qur’an is the sayings, teachings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
  6. The Qur’an has three principle themes: Oneness & Majesty of Allah, Prophethood and belief in the message, the Afterlife.

  8. The Qur’an is not read like other Arabic books, it is to be recited with Tajweed and in a tone that beautifies the Qur’an.
